Vehicle Examiners Undergo Training

In order to uplift the standards of the vehicle examination at the Land Transport Authority (LTA), 18 Vehicle Examiners underwent a two-day training, last week.

The training, which was conducted at the Nadave Training Center on Saturday, was aimed at further strengthening LTA’s enforcement on vehicle examination.

It was further targeted at informing and updating Vehicle Examiners on current and new practices related to vehicle inspections.

Additionally, the participants were able to enhance their technical knowledge on vehicle examination.

LTA Board Chairperson, Vijay Maharaj said there were plans of conducting more similar types of trainings.

“Such types of trainings ensure that our officers are full equipped with the latest knowledge in their required field of expertise,” Mr Maharaj said.

Mr Maharaj added that the training would further boost staff morale and their self-esteem.

The training focused on Left Hand Drive Vehicles, Statutory Written Off Vehicles, Usage of Trade Plates, Weight Exemptions, Welding Defects, JEVIC, Vehicle Structures and most importantly Enforcement issues.

The training further focused on professionalism and work ethics by representatives from the Academia and trainees were also involved in the team building exercises.

The training was conducted by qualified LTA training instructors.
