Uplifting of Freeze on PSV Permits

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services hereby announces the uplifting of freeze on the following Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Permits:

a. Licensed Hire (LH)
b. Licensed Rental (LR)
c. Licensed Minibus (LM)
d. Licensed Carrier (LC)

The Cabinet in its meeting on Tuesday 03 October 2023 have endorsed the uplifting of the freeze on the above-mentioned PSV Permits after a submission by the Minister for Public Works, Transport  and Meteorological Services – the Hon. Ro Filipe Tuisawau.

LTA has streamlined its processes and requirements after undertaking a nationwide consultation in 2022 and early 2023 to ensure that there is improvement in the way it deals with and processes PSV Permit Applications.

Thorough assessments and proper scrutiny will be conducted upon the completion of Applications and LTA requirements fulfilled to ensure wider economic participation for the economically disadvantaged.

The uplifting of the freeze on the above-mentioned PSV Permits also means that LTA will also be receiving Applications for amendment to PSV Permit conditions, and which shall be treated as New Applications.
