The Land Transport Authority (LTA) plays a crucial role in regulating the transportation of hazardous materials throughout Fiji. If you are involved in the transportation or handling of dangerous goods, it is essential to obtain the appropriate hazardous permit to ensure the safety of yourself, others, and the environment.

Who Needs a Hazardous Permit?

You will likely need a hazardous permit from LTA if your business activities involve the transportation of:

- Class 1: Explosives
- Class 2: Gases
- Class 3 : Flammable Liquids
- Class 4 : Flammable Solids
- Class 5 : Organic & Inorganic Peroxides
- Class 6 : Toxic & Infectious Substances
- Class 7 : Radioactive Materials
- Class 8 : Corrosive Substances
- Class 9 : Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods  

Permit Application Process:

  1. Gather Required Information: Collect course requirements (refer to requirements checklist).
  2. Submit Application with Supporting Documents: Submit your completed application form along with the necessary supporting documents to the Standards & Engineering department or email sne@lta.com.fj.
  3. Pay Applicable Fees: Pay the required fees associated with your hazardous course fees $306.00 public session $160 in house training
  4. Await Processing and Approval: LTA will accept your application and contact you on the next DG course date.
