Application for Unique Numbers

In order to apply for unique number plate, you will need to fulfil some conditions. Below is the process of how you can successfully apply for a unique number plate.

Pre – requisites (Prior Condition before Application)

  1. The vehicle must be registered and the Registration of the vehicle must be valid.
  2. All outstanding TIN’s must be cleared.

Checklists (What to bring)

  1. Completed application Form for Unique Number Plate.
  2. A consent letter from the Financier is required if the vehicle is under a Bill of Sale
  3. A letter, or if applicable, a statutory declaration explaining the meaning of the chosen combination, is required
  4. Supporting documents for the chosen combination, if applicable, must be provided.

Note: The Unique Combination Must:

  1. Align with possible combinations reflected on the application form.
  2. Be appropriate and not contain offensive content

Amendment of Motor vehicle Accident Levy –(MVAL) Third Party-$15.80

Process

  1. Fill in the Application Form - Obtain the application form either online or at the LTA office.
  2. Submit the Application - Submit the completed application form along with the checklist (as mentioned above) to any LTA office.
  3. Application Verification - The Customer Service Officer (CSO) will check and verify the application before registering it in the system .
  4. Review by Team Leader - The application for the unique number plate will be forwarded to the Team Leader for review.
  5. Assessment by Manager Registration Licensing and Driving (MRLD) Once reviewed by the Team Leader, the application will be forwarded to the Manager, Registration Licensing, and Driving (MRLD) for further review and assessment.
  6. Assessment by Manager Standard and Compliance (MSC) - After the MRLD review, the application will be sent to the Manager, Standard and Compliance (MSC) for further assessment and then to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for final approval.
  7. Approval Notification - Upon approval, you will receive an official approval letter from LTA confirming that your application for a unique number plate has been approved.
  8. Payment for Unique Number Plate - Once approved, you will be required to make the payment for the unique number plate.
  9. Amendment of Third-Party Policy (TPP) - You will need to have your TPP amended to reflect the new unique number plate.
  10. After amending your TPP, the CSO with the amended TPP, surrender the running number plate, and provide the current registration label.
  11. System Update and Issuance of Unique Number Plate The system will be updated, and you will be issued the unique number plate and a new registration label.
  12. Printing Time for Unique Number Plates Printing of unique number plates will take one day in Valelevu and more than one day if ordered from district offices outside Valelevu.
