How To Renew Your Full Driver Licence

Your Full Driver Licence can be renewed 28 days in advance. If you are caught on the road driving with an expired Driver Licence, then your vehicle will be seized and you will need to pay a hefty penalty.

Below is the process on how to get your Driver Licence renewed:

Pre–requisites (Prior Condition before Application)

  1. Valid DDC (Only If application is for classes 3,4 or 5 licences).
  2. All TINs need to be cleared.

Checklist (What to bring)

  1. Renewal Form (You can get this form from the helpdesk at any LTA Office).
  2. Medical Certificate (valid for five years from the date of issue).
  3. Request letter for all Driver Licence holders over 60 years of age.
  4. Passport size photo - Guideline for Photographs (https://www.immigration.gov.fj/guidelines-for-passport-photographs/)

Fees

1. If you want to renew your full Driver Licence for Classes 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 or 9 then CSO will provide you the following options:

 

  • 1 Year
  • 3 Years
  • 6 Years

2. If you want to renew your PSV Driver Licence for Classes 3, 4 or 5 then CSO will provide you the following options:

 

  • PSV Badge Fee – 1 Year
  • PSV Badge Fee – 3 Years

Process

  1. Fill in the application form (you can get this form online or at any LTA Office).
  2. Submit the application form together with the checklist (as mentioned above) to the Customer Service Officer (CSO).
  3. Once the CSO has updated your application in the system, you will need to pay the Fees.
  4. Once you have paid the application fees and received your receipt, please proceed to the card printing officer’s counter to collect your printed card.

Note (Important)

If your Driver's License has expired, you may be required to obtain a Learner's Permit and complete a Driving Test, or settle any outstanding fees along with the renewal charges.

  1. PSV Driver Licence expired for more than 1 year and less than 3 years.
    1. You will need to get a Learners Permit.
    2. Pass the Driving Test before getting your Driver Licence renewed.

  2. PSV Driver Licence expired for more than 3 years.
    1. Your PSV Driver Licence will be void. You will need to re-do the whole process of getting the PSV Driver Licence.

  3. PSV Driver Licence renewal for clients whose age is in between 60 and 65 years. If the licence is valid:
      1. You will need to apply using process mentioned above.
      2. Your application will be approved/rejected by the Regional Manager.
      3. If the Regional Manager approves your application, then you can get your PSV Driver Licence renewed for another 1 year.
      4. If the Regional Manager rejects your application, then you will need to get the Learners Permit and pass the driving test before your licen​ce can be renewed.

  4. PSV Driver Licence renewal for clients whose age is greater than 65 years.
    1. Same procedure as 3 above but the approval will be given by the CEO.

  5. Non-PSV Driver Licence renewal for clients whose age is greater than 75 years.
    1. Same process as in 3 above.
