There are 2 types of unique number transfer.
- Transfer of unique number between Persons.
- Transfer of unique number plate between vehicles.
This may also apply if the owner wishes to surrender his unique number plate and revert to its original number.
In both the scenarios, you will need to surrender your unique number first:
Pre – requisites (Prior Condition before Application)
- If vehicle is under financial interest, a consent letter from the Financier.
- Both the vehicles should be defect free. That is, all defects should be cleared.
- All outstanding tins must be cleared
- Vehicle registration should be valid for both vehicles.
Process
To proceed with this, the following steps will take place:
- Submit your signed request letter together with the checklist (as mentioned above) to the Customer Service Officer (CSO).
- Application Verification - The Customer Service Officer (CSO) will check and verify your request before registering it in the system.
- The application will be forwarded to the Team Leader for review and final decision. CSO will then amend and update the 3rd party, you will be required to pay a total of $48.30 fees to the CSO.
- The CSO will provide you with the running number and the new registration certificate.
- Once the unique number is surrendered, you can either transfer it to your own vehicle or to another client’s vehicle.
*If you are transferring the vehicle to another client, simply write a request letter and submit it to the Authority.
*The other client will apply for your unique number to the CSO.
*Update the 3rd party and pay the fees.
*CSO will print the new registration certificate.
