If you are planning to go abroad for work or migration, you may apply for an advance renewal of your driver's license. This allows you to renew your license before it expires, ensuring that you remain legally licensed while abroad.
Pre–requisites (Prior Condition before Application)
- Valid DDC (Only If application is for classes 3,4 or 5 licences).
- Application will be assessed in accordance with the Driver License Show Cause Policy
- All TINs need to be cleared.
Checklist (What to bring)
- Renewal Form (You can get this form from the helpdesk at any LTA Office).
- Medical Certificate if applicable (valid for five years from the date of issue).
- Request letter for advance renewal of Driver Licence
- Visa (Work Permit or Migration) and travel itinerary

Fees
1. If you want to renew your full Driver Licence for Classes 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 or 9 then CSO will provide you the following options:

2. If you want to renew your PSV Driver Licence for Classes 3, 4 or 5 then CSO will provide you the following options:
- PSV Badge Fee – 1 Year
- PSV Badge Fee – 3 Years
- PSV Badge Fee – 6 Years

Process
- Fill in the application form (you can get this form online or at any LTA Office).
- Submit the application form together with the required checklist (as mentioned above) to the Customer Service Officer (CSO).
- The CSO will update your application in the system. The application will then be forwarded to the Team Leader for review and assessment for the final decision.
- If your application is approved, you will be asked to pay the necessary fees associated with the process.
- Once the payment is made, and you have received the receipt, proceed to the card printing officer's counter to collect your printed card.
