The Land Transport Authority is proud to
announce that seven of our Standards and Engineering employees graduated
yesterday (Wednesday) from the University of the South Pacific.
Among the graduates is the Authority’s first ever female Manager Standards and
Engineering, Ms. Makitalena Drova who has added another feather in her cap: she
has successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration
(General Management).
The other graduates include Team Leader Standards and Engineering Thomas
Kishore, Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering); Engineer Razik Khan, Bachelor
of Engineering (Mechanical);
Senior Technical Officer Samuela Rokocakau, Bachelor
of Engineering (Electrical/Electronics);
Assistant Technical Officer Nomneet Chand Bachelor
of Engineering (Electrical/Electronics);
Technical Officer Vadan Padiachy Bachelor of
Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) and
Technical Officer Marika Kaitani Bachelor of
Engineering (Electrical/Electronics).
LTA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Naisa Tuinaceva congratulated the staff on
their achievements and wished them well in their careers.
“The Authority proudly
congratulates these staff on this significant accomplishment in their careers
and we are confident they will continue to be significant assets to our
organization,” remarked Mr. Tuinaceva.
Mr Tuinaceva added that the Authority is happy to invest in the professional
growth of staff as employee aspiration cannot solely be satisfied by working
for a driven and successful organization.
“All of us want to learn and grow in our field, so we can develop and
eventually do our jobs better and that is why we encourage our staff to continue
with higher education and become fully armed with the most up-to-date
knowledge,” said Mr. Tuinaceva.
LTA offers award courses to its staff which basically means that
the Authority reimburses education fee once staff successfully complete a Certificate,
Diploma or Degree course.
