E-TICKETING IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUS PASSENGERS

The Land Transport Authority wishes to advise the bus passengers that you are required to have a valid E-Ticketing card when travelling on buses throughout Fiji. This requirement is effective from 1st October, 2017 as per the Electronic Fare Ticketing Act 2014 and Legal Notice No.63.

The travelling public must ensure they have a Valid Bus Card with them at all times during their bus trip.

Regular revenue protection checks will be carried out in your area.

Where passengers are found to be without a Valid Bus Card or have not paid the required fare to reach their destination you may be liable to a fixed penalty of $150.

Similarly, Bus Drivers are required to ensure correct payment of fares. Where drivers are found to be in breach of the Electronic Fare Ticketing (Omnibus) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 they may be liable to pay a fixed penalty of $150.

Passengers are encouraged to validate their Bus Cards to avoid possible fines or disruptions to their travel.
