Beware of Impersonators: LTA

Jul 16, 2019

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is concerned with impersonators fraudulently misrepresenting themselves as LTA Public Service Vehicle (PSV) officials to extort money from individuals for the issuance of counterfeit provisional approval letters for PSV Permits.

LTA advises customers the issuance of provisional approvement letters are issued only on the basis of a successful PSV permit being lodged and accepted by the Authority.

PSV related transactions are only carried out from the following LTA Branches in Valelevu, Labasa, and Lautoka respectively. PSV matters are not dealt with at any other LTA Branch Offices.

However, all the other LTA Branch Offices will happily take care of your business with the Authority.

All LTA Staff are required to carry Official Identity Cards when on duty in our Branch Offices please ensure that the person dealing with your business is an Official LTA employee.

LTA Staff engaged on Vehicle or Driving Examinations or on the roadside or visiting premises of Authorised Motor Vehicle Dealers for example always carry official LTA Identity Cards. Always ensure that you see this identity card to ensure that the person with whom you are dealing with is an LTA Official. If you are in doubt call 582 or summon a Fiji Police Officer.

People can also text us on our mobile platform 582 or email us on help@lta.com.fj to report such matters or any complaints.
