Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and protective measures by other countries, including New Zealand being on Level 4 alert, all off-shore Vehicle Verification & Inspection done by Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Company (JEVIC) in New Zealand will be ceased until further notice.
However, the inspections from Japan and Australia will be continuing as normal.
The Land Transport Authority would like to urge members of the public and Authorised Motor Vehicle Dealers to take heed of this notification.
As vehicles are not inspected the vehicles may not be able to be shipped from New Zealand into the country.
We will continue to monitor and advise on the situation, including the actions undertaken elsewhere which may follow New Zealand’s lead.
