LTA CHAIRMAN CHARTS BOLD NEW VISION FOR AUTHORITY

Jun 13, 2025

SUVA, Fiji: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Fiji is embarking on a transformative journey to deliver international standards of service and operational excellence, under the leadership of its Chairman, Mr. Inosi Kuridrani.

For over two decades, the LTA has served as the custodian of Fiji’s land transport system, guided by its mission:

“To provide a safe, efficient, customer-focused, economical, sustainable, and environmentally-friendly land transport system for the nation in partnership with stakeholders, Government, and the community.”

LTA Board Chairman Mr Inosi KuridraniReflecting on his tenure as Chairman over the past three years, Mr. Kuridrani highlighted the challenges that have hindered the LTA’s ability to deliver the level of service Fijians deserve.

Despite consistent growth in revenue, Mr Kuridrani said the Authority had faced limitations in resourcing and technology due to funding constraints.

Recognising these challenges, Mr. Kuridrani has outlined a clear and bold vision: to pursue corporatisation of the LTA. This strategic reform would enable the Authority to operate with greater autonomy, agility, and efficiency, while remaining fully accountable to the people of Fiji.

“Corporatization is not just about better systems or infrastructure — it’s about transforming the way we serve the public. We want every Fijian to experience world-class service and to have confidence in a land transport system that is safe, modern, and sustainable,” Mr Kuridrani said.

The LTA is committed to working closely with Government, stakeholders, and the community to ensure transparency and accountability at every stage of this proposed reform.

As Fiji’s economy grows, a modernised LTA will play a vital role in supporting national development, improving road safety, and promoting environmental sustainability. The LTA invites all stakeholders and the public to support this vision and join in shaping the future of transport in Fiji.
