LTA AND DIGICEL PACIFIC PARTNER TO ENHANCE DIGITAL PAYMENTS

Jun 23, 2025

SUVA, Fiji (23rd June 2025) : The Land Transport Authority (LTA) joined hands with Digicel Pacific to launch the MyCash digital payment solution for LTA services, enabling Digicel customers to easily add LTA as a new biller and make payments for key services directly from their MyCash wallet.

LTA Chief Executive Officer Irimaia Rokosawa said the partnership represented a transformative approach to serving the people of Fiji—enhancing accessibility, inclusivity, and responsiveness for customers in both urban and remote communities.

“This is convenience, safety, and progress — all rolled into one digital solution,” Mr Rokosawa said today at LTA Valelevu branch in Nasinu.

“The initiative aligns with LTA’s broader digital transformation strategy, where our aim is to move away from manual, paper-based processes and towards smart, efficient, and real-time service delivery.”

He acknowledged Digicel Fiji’s commitment to innovation and their shared goal of bridging the digital divide.

“We are not only providing a service, but also helping ensure that even those without access to traditional banking can manage their obligations with LTA through MyCash,” Mr Rokosawa added.

“Today’s launch is part of a much larger vision—reducing in-person queues and administrative burdens, supporting cashless, contactless payment options, and ultimately building public trust through efficient and transparent services.”

He thanked the hardworking teams from both LTA and Digicel Fiji for making the integration possible, and encouraged all MyCash users to take advantage of the new service.

Digicel Fiji Chief Executive Officer Farid Mohammed said the partnership was a major milestone in enhancing customer experience, accessibility, and digital convenience for Fijians across the country.

“It’s a pleasure to officially launch this partnership, bringing MyCash as a payment option on the LTA platform. This will undoubtedly enhance the customer experience for both LTA and Digicel users,” Mr Mohammed said.

He highlighted that Digicel had been upgrading its digital platforms to align with Fiji’s broader vision of becoming a digitally connected nation.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure customers have full control over their mobile wallets, including the ability to download receipts and transaction statements, similar to traditional banking,” he added.

“With the growing number of scams and fraud, we wanted to ensure that our customers have security while staying digitally connected.

"The latest MyCash updates include enhanced safety features, many of which work behind the scenes to protect users.”

He further emphasised that MyCash is driving financial inclusion.

“This service is now available to anyone with a Digicel mobile number, whether they are in Kadavu, the Lau Group, or other remote communities. They can now make secure LTA payments without the burden of travelling to urban centres,” Mr Mohammed said.

To mark the launch of MyCash for LTA payments, Digicel is offering 2GB free data promotion with every LTA Bill Payment valid for 24 hours. This promotion ends August 31st and is valid only for LTA bill payments via MyCash app or USSD (*888#).
